Data Tape Shredding
Why Shredding Your Outdated Data Tapes is Smart Business – Shred It!
Professional Data Tape Shredding Service
Data Tapes have a 10-15 year stability of data storage. After that, the reliability of these tapes degrade, rendering them unusable. But that doesn’t mean data cannot still be retrieved! Simply storing them leaves your data at risk from falling into the wrong hands. Don’t risk it, Shred it! with SBC Recycle’s Certified Data Destruction.

🚨 The Problem:
Not all Data Tape destruction methods are created equal. Many shredders on the market are not designed to handle data tapes properly, leaving behind particles that are too large to ensure complete data destruction. If your recycler isn’t using an industrial shredder capable of reducing data tapes to 1/4-inch particles or smaller, sensitive data—such as customer records, financial data, and passwords—could still be recoverable.
⚠️ The Risk:
An improperly shredded Data Tape in the wrong hands can lead to serious consequences. Cybercriminals can extract data, putting your company at risk of breaches, financial losses, and legal penalties. Failure to comply with HIPAA, GDPR, and NIST 800-88 could result in hefty fines and reputational damage. Without proper Data Tape destruction down to 1/4-inch particles, your organization remains vulnerable to cyber threats and compliance violations.
✅ The Solution:
At SBC Recycle, our industrial shredders are designed specifically for Data Tape destruction, reducing drives to 1/4-inch or smaller particles—far exceeding industry security standards. Unlike software wipes or degaussing, our shredding process ensures total data elimination.
